{March 10, 2008}   Boar recoloring rough drafts

If any of these strike your fancy, or make you think of something else that you’d like to see, let me know. The rump spots area, if I put something there, it will appear on both the shoulder and rump. See the undead Boar transparency issue post for a pic.

I like the last one, the nearly Black&White undead one. I left just enough color in it to look ‘real’ but I’m thinking it’ll look really bleak in-game.

I’m having a problem with the transparency on this one, clearly. I haven’t figured it out yet, but I’ve solved transparency issues before, so I’m confident that I’ll get through it.

Here’s the native UD Boar, for reference:

{March 9, 2008}   Pink Bear experiment

I did this just to see if I could:

Apparently, I could.

{March 9, 2008}   Nelf Druid Kitty form changes

I made some changes to the druid kitty form:

Grass Green:

Here are the other pre-made colors available. I’ve had a request to make a white one. That’ll be a challenge, check back later to see if I’ve succeeded.

This is the original native color, for reference:

Freaky-weird colorless:

These mods available by request for now, they’ll be posted here for easy download later.

My initial motivation to get into this thing was that I missed my Snowy Gryphon when I went epic. I hate the golden gryphons, and it grated to have to use one. I paid 5k to have this? >_<

After a lot of hassle, I figured out how to get it done, and came up with these mods:

ignore the ‘purple armor’ bit. This one is my favorite, the blue/silver armor with the white gryph.

It’s also available as normal armor & White Gryphon, here’s the blue:

Patches with the above mods available here soon. Check back.

{March 7, 2008}   ~First Post~

Hey, WowSkinner here. I’d like to start off by noting that this is the first time I’ve ever called myself that. If you know of another person who has ever gone by that handle, anywhere else at all, it’s not me. This blog is the only place where I will ever refer to myself as that name. So if there’s another WowSkinner out there, sorry about that, this name was available at wordpress, so I snagged it.

This blog is meant to put a brighter face on the practice of Wow skinning. I wanted to learn how to make my epic flying mount white like my beloved non-epic Snowy Gryphon, and I had a bit of a time learning how. And apparently hardly anyone does anything with this technology aside from draw nipples with it. So I resolved to create an easy-to-use (or at least all-in-one-place) tutorial sans nips for others who share my interest in this practice.

Please, enjoy, comment and inquire, I’m here to help. See the categories in the sidebar to get started looking at pre-made texture changes, and the tutorial is also located in the sidebar. Yes, I will do custom textures for you. No, I won’t be drawing nipples on anything for you. Yes, it’s free. But it might not be immediate. >_> I can be slow.
